Morgenthaler Ventures, Pitango Venture Capital and Menlo Ventures are all backers of the business, which has about 10 million registered users.

Check picked up $47m through an angel round and three institutional investor rounds, most recently a $24m Series C led by Menlo.

Morgenthaler and Pitango, who had previously backed the business, also took part in that round.

The deal is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2014.
