Vector Capital buys IPVALUE, plans $100m of investment

brain_lrgTech-focused private equity firm Vector Capital has bought intellectual property licensing business IPVALUE amid plans to invest more than $100m in the company.

IPVALUE has provided intellectual property transactional and advisory services for global technology companies, R&D labs and other developers and IP owners.

Vector vice president Nick Lukens said, “We have pursued the IP commercialization sector as an investment theme for several years.

“After evaluating dozens of transactions and meeting with numerous management teams, we concluded that IPVALUE represents the ideal platform for pursuing strategic growth and market consolidation. We look forward to a successful partnership.”

To date, the IPVALUE team has closed over 150 IP monetization transactions, generating over $1.25bn in gross revenue for its partners.
