VC-backed cloud storage company Nirvanix to wind down


US cloud storage company Nirvanix has confirmed it is to wind down its business, following considerable speculation as to the company’s future.

The company previously received backing from investors such as corporate VC Intel Capital and venture capital firms including Khosla Ventures, Windward Ventures, Mission Ventures and Valhalla Partners.

In all it raised close to $70m, and most recently completed a $25m Series C round in 2012.
