Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
EMCT is currently owned by funds managed by Vaaka, Etera Mutual Pension Insurance Company, Finnish Industry Investment and the company’s management team.
Vaaka bought a majority stake in EMCT when the company was formed through a merger of four medium-sized businesses in 2007.
The business provides technical services projects including plumbing, electrical services, mechanical services, security and telecommunications for new-builds and renovations.
Vaaka partner Ilkka Pentikäinen said, “Together with the management team, Vaaka Partners has grown EMC Talotekniikka to a leading national player in the technical services and building systems markets which have been challenging for the construction industry in general.
“The company has succeeded excellently in its growth strategy – over €50m of sales growth has been organic accelerated by a series of strategic add-ons.
“We are very pleased with the transaction and the fact that EMC Talotekniikka will be incorporated into a large international company, allowing strong further development.”
Vaaka was advised by Aventum Partners and Borenius in the transaction.
In June Imtech also bought British power and utilities computer control system provider Capula from UK mid-market private equity firm Dunedin.
