TA agrees £140m sale of M and M Direct after seven-year holding


mandm directUS buyout house TA Associates has agreed to sell UK mail order and online retailer M and M Direct in a deal worth up to £140m.

Danish fashion group Bestseller revealed it is to buy the business TA bought from fellow private equity firm ECI Partners in 2007.

The company provides discounted branded clothing and footwear through websites covering countries including the UK, Germany, France, Austria, The Netherlands and Poland.

Earlier this year TA sold a 10.6 per cent stake in UK mutual fund manager Jupiter for £197.2m.

Jupiter is one of the UK’s largest fund management groups, managing over £29bn of investments for both individual and institutional investors in unit trusts, institutional mandates, investment trusts, hedge funds, offshore funds, pensions and private client portfolios.
