Swedish solar company Sol Voltaics raises $15.6m in VC backing


Swedish solar module material manufacturer Sol Voltaics has raised $15.6m in funding with $9.4m of equity from Norwegian investment firm Umoe.

Other major shareholders of the company include VC firms Industrifonden, Nano Future Invest, and Foundation Asset Management.

Cleantech investor and CEO of Nektar Asset Management, Kent Janer, also joined as one of the major shareholders of the company. He joins private investor and veteran solar industry technologist and executive Erik Sauar.

The remaining $6.2m was provided earlier in the year by the Swedish Energy Agency.
