SL Capital acquires stake in Pantheon fund

edinburghEdinburgh-based secondaries investor SL Capital has bought a stake in a European private equity fund managed by Pantheon.

The investment was made from SL Capital’s debut fund, which was closed on $190m earlier this year, said Secondaries Investor.

In May this year Pantheon launched a feeder fund to give high net worth individual investors access to private equity.

Wealthy individuals are now able to participate in the firm’s primary, secondary and direct private investments without needing to make institutional-size commitments, according to a Dow Jones report.

Earlier in 2014, Orange County Employees Retirement System picked Pantheon  to manage its fund of funds programme.

A recent report showed that secondaries fundraising activity had more than tripled so far in 2014 thanks to eight funds attracting increased attention from LPs.
