Sentinel invests in MB2 Dental Solutions, its third deal in the space of a week

Sentinel Capital Partners has invested in MB2 Dental Solutions, its third deal in the space of a week and its sixth dental platform.

Sentinel exited North American consumer health brand marketeer WellSpring Consumer Healthcare last week, before exiting play equipment maker Playcore this week.

The firm has exited at least five companies already this year following Checkers & Rally’s Restaurants, National Spine & Pain Centers and Power Products.

MB2 Dental Solutions is a dental service organisation (DSO) which is headquartered in Texas. The company serves patients in Alaska, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Texas. It currently has 85 affiliated practices offering general dentistry services, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry and oral surgery.

The company implements a so-called joint venture business model where affiliated dentists enjoy the infrastructure, compliance, marketing, and purchasing advantages of the traditional DSO model.

Sentinel partner said, “MB2 bridges the gap between private practice and traditional DSOs. With a motto that ‘patients come before profits,’ MB2 attracts and retains highly talented and motivated entrepreneurial dentists by offering clinical autonomy and the opportunity to become owners of their own practices, while using an efficient and established operating model.”

AltAssets reported in March that Sentinel had acquired women’s apparel retailer Cabi to its portfolio. The company has 3,500 independent stylists conducting private shows in the homes of more than 78,000 hostesses across the US, United Kingdom and Canada.
