Riverwood, SAP lead $101m Series D for Nutanix

data storage_lrgDatacenter infrastructure company Nutanix has raised a massive $101m Series D round led by Riverwood Capital and SAP Ventures, bringing its fundraising total to $172.2m.

Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital and Greenspring Associates also participated in the round alongside existing investors Lightspeed Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures and Battery Ventures also participated in the round.

The company said that this was the largest single financing round in the converged infrastructure sector. It will use the funds to invest in research and development, grow its sales and marketing teams as well as for further international expansion.

Riverwood founding partner Jeff Parks said, “Nutanix is one of a very small class of companies that is transforming the way enterprises deliver IT.

“We are very excited to partner with Dheeraj Pandey and his world-class management team as they build the next-generation enterprise computing company.

The round follows the company’s $33m Series C raised in August 2012.
