Rabo Capital picks up Dutch solar, weather instrument business Kipp & Zonen


sensor-wind-anemometerDutch mid-market private equity firm Rabo Capital has bought solar and atmospheric instrument maker Kipp & Zonen.

The company, which was founded in 1830, designs, manufactures and markets equipment used for measuring solar radiation and atmospheric properties in the areas of meteorology, climatology and renewable energy.

In addition to its Dutch headquarters Kipp & Zonen maintains sales and service offices in France, the US and Singapore.

Earlier this month a consortium including Rabo sold Dutch opthalmic instrument and equipment maker DORC to European investment firm Montagu Private Equity.
