4 Sep 2014

bunsen-burn-2-653562-mSwiss-headquartered Partners Group has bought a 30 per cent stake in Turkish natural gas distributor Enerya and teamed up with its parent company STFA Group.

Enerya owns and operates nine natural gas distribution companies in different regions in western and central Turkey, each with exclusive 30-year concession rights in their respective region.

The company will be governed on a joint venture basis, with STFA Group keeping hold of the remaining 70 per cent shareholding as part of the deal.

Partners finished fundraising for its biggest-ever dedicated infrastructure vehicle by holding a €1bn final close for the fund in January of this year.

Following the transaction, Partners said it will work with the Enerya’s management team and STFA Group to further build its natural gas platform.

Partners Group managing director in the private infrastructure team Brandon Prater said, “In STFA, we have found a great partner and we look forward to working with them to develop Enerya’s business across Turkey in the coming years.

“Together, we are in a great position to expand Enerya’s platform in a sector which we believe will deliver solid, stable growth.”
