Existing investors including Institutional Venture Partners and Ignition Partners, which led Hipmunk’s Series B and A, respectively, also participated in the round.
The company will use the funds to hire new staff, win new customers and to make further investments in its technology.
Hipmunk launched its iOS app in February 2011 and its Android app nearly a year later.
Oak general partner Ren Riley said, “We’re eager to invest in great entrepreneurs and companies that are capitalizing on mobile trends.
“Hipmunk has both of these qualities, and in less than four years, has developed an energetic user base, industry-leading cross platform integration, and key partnerships that we’re excited to help grow.”
Other companies backed by Oak Investment Partners include Bitcoin startup Circle Internet Financial, which received a Series B investment from the firm in March this year.
