KPCB leads $106m Series E round for VC-backed Data Stax

data networkKleiner Perkins Caufield and Byers has led a hefty $106m Series E round financing round for big data platform Data Stax.

The amount brings the total capital raised by the company to $190m, and is thought to be the final round of financing before Data Stax launches an IPO.

ClearBridge Investments, Cross Creek Advisors, Wasatch Funds, PremjiInvest and Comcast Ventures were all new investors in the round.

Data Stax has worked with more than 500 global companies including Intuit, Intercontinental Hotels Group, Clear Capital, Netflix and eBay, and said it had developed strong partnerships with businesses such as Google, Accenture, Microsoft and HP.

Company CEO Billy Bosworth said, “Demand for DataStax is strong and accelerating as companies are realizing that in today’s world you either make data the center of your business or fall far behind your competitors who do so.

“We have become the very fabric of the digital age and we are blazing the trail, helping to drive the future of enterprises and startups alike.”
