KPCB, Draper, Intel in $20m Series D for internet of things light company


under-light-1244963-mKleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, Draper Nexus Ventures and Intel Capital were among venture capital firms re-upping in a $20m Series D round for internet of things company Enlighted.

The company, which has produced a smart sensor network with lighting control for the workplace, said it will use the cash to keep up with current demand and keep developing advanced workplace applications.

Kleiner Perkins partner Trae Vassallo will join the Enlighted board of directors as part of the deal.

He said, “Enlighted improves enterprise productivity and reduces operating costs through a combination of sensors, connectivity and big data analytics.

“Enlighted turns commercial buildings into powerful computing platforms — putting the Internet of Things to work for its customers.”

Kleiner Perkins recently joined a Series D funding round for substitute meat company Beyond Meat.
