Kleiner Perkins helps Instart Logic raise $26m Series C

tablet computerContent delivery network Instart Logic has raised $26m in an oversubscribed Series C round led by capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers.

The company’s existing backers Andreessen Horowitz, Greylock Partners, Sutter Hill Ventures and Tenaya Capital. Also participated in the round.

Instart Logic has seen its customer base grow by more than 500 per cent over the past year. Its customers include One Kings Lane, Volcom, Washington Post, Wine.com and Omni Hotels, which have replaced their existing content delivery network with Instart Logic’s service.

The company said the proceeds will be used to expand sales and marketing and accelerate research and development.

KPCB general partner Matt Murphy said, “Application performance and user experience have never been a more strategic, competitive differentiator.

“Instart Logic’s application streaming approach is fundamentally different, delivering dramatic results for their customers and making existing content delivery networks obsolete.”

Back in December the firm participated in a Series D round for its existing portfolio company, file-sharing platform Egnyte.
