singapore_skyscraper_170Private equity major KKR is reportedly nearing a deal to acquire Singapore-based bulk containers maker Goodpack, which has a market value of S$1.36bn ($1.1bn).

KKR is working with at least two investment banks on a debt package for the deal, said Reuters, citing sources with direct knowledge of the matter.

The firm has been in talks to buy Goodpack for a year and negotiations are now at an advanced stage, said the sources.

Back in March Goodpack revealed that it was in negotiations to sell itself to an unnamed party and that it hired Rippledot Capital to manage the process.

A month later it was reported that private equity firms Blackstone and Carlyle were interested in the company.
