The deal will see Star use Askul’s logistics network to deliver its lunchboxes, while Star’s delivery cars will also be used to transport Askul’s office supply deliveries.
Jafco invested $10m in Star last August to expand Gochikuru’s service into new cities.
Launched in 2009, Gochikuru sells a variety of bento boxes via a network of partner vendors. To date, the company has partnered with 210 lunch box brands, serving more than 3.2 million customers.
Star previously raised JPY250m($2.45m) from Globis Capital Partners and Gree Ventures in August 2012.
