8 Jul 2014

blue-sky-on-top-of-the-hill-1443964-mIntel’s venture capital arm has made a repeat investment in Cloudian through a $24m financing round, while INCJ and Fidelity Growth Partners have laid down cash for the first time.

Executives from Japanese public-private investment partnership INCJ will join Intel Capital on Cloudian’s board of directors as part of the deal.

Cloudian provides hybrid cloud storage solutions, which aim to achieve continuity when an organisation runs some resources in-house and has others provided externally. The business said it will use the money to extend its global sales.

Intel unveiled a $100m fund which will invest in smart devices businesses in China, in May this year.

Last month the venture capital firm led a $16m Series C round for Indian digital CRM startup Vizury.
