Corporate venture capital group Intel Capital has announced investments in ten technology companies totalling approximately $40m.
The investments are in companies from China, South Korea, Taiwan, Brazil, India and the US.
These include secure content sharing platform Box; Bollywood and South-Asian content distributor Hungama.com; Taiwanese integrated circuit design house FocalTech; social radio platform Jelli; Korean social game developer LIFO Interactive; mobile proximity platform NewAer; Brazil e-payment platform PagPop; cloud services provider Tier 3; Chinese 3-D game developer Transmension; and Chinese mobile advertising provider UUCun.
Financial details of each investment were not disclosed.
In 2011, Intel Capital invested $526m in 158 investments with approximately 51 per cent of funds invested outside the US and Canada.
