Insight Ventures, GIC buy education software company iParadigms from Warburg for $752m


education_lrgInsight Venture Partners and Singapore sovereign wealth fund GIC have agreed to buy education software business iParadigms from Warburg Pincus in a $752m deal.

The company makes cloud-based technologies to prevent plagiarism, verify content and evaluate student learning, and is used by more than 24 million students worldwide.

Warburg bought a controlling stake in iParadigms in 2008.

Insight managing director Deven Parekh said, “iParadigms operates an incredible business that solves some of the most persistent and universal challenges in education.

“We look forward to working with the team to serve its very loyal customer base and to invest in product innovation that will continue the company’s amazing track record of high growth.”

Evercore was hired by Warburg to run the sale process.
