Ignition Partners backs data transformation business Trifacta in $25m Series C

pie chart graph dataUS venture capital firm Ignition Partners has led a $25m Series C financing round for data transformation business Trifacta just six months after its Series B round.

Greylock Partners and Accel Partners returned to take part in the latest financing, while Ignition managing director Frank Artale has joined the Trifacta board.

Trifacta says that transforming data into its raw form ready for analysis can traditionally consume as much as 80 per cent of the whole analysis process, while its own platform is up to ten times more efficient.

Artale said, “Communicating ideas with data is becoming the way enterprises work.

“Trifacta offers the first solution that enables people across disciplines in organizations of any size to transform data intuitively.

“With Trifacta’s platform, users can live in their data, much like some knowledge workers live in spreadsheets and even email.

At Ignition, we’ve recognized that data transformation is a growing hurdle for big gata — enterprises are bottlenecked in their Hadoop deployments without Trifacta.

“We are excited to back Trifacta’s platform with its ability to empower data-driven enterprises.”
