GTCR acquires marketing software company Vocus for $446.5m

data_software_binaryPrivate equity firm GTCR has agreed to buy cloud-based marketing and public relations software provider Vocus for $446.5m.

GTCR will buy all of Vocus’ outstanding shares for $18 apiece, which represents a massive premium of 79 per cent to its twelve-month average share price.

The Beltsville, Maryland-based company’s software is currently used by more than 16,000 annual subscription customers in various sectors.

GTCR managing director Mark Anderson said, “We are very pleased to announce this transaction and partner with Vocus to help maximize its growth potential.

“Vocus has a demonstrated history of building innovative software and helping customers achieve success. We look forward to the opportunity to work with Vocus to enhance its industry leadership.”

Back in January GTCR held a final close of $3.85bn for its seventh buyout fund after only seven month on the road.
