Minneapolis-based private equity firm Goldner Hawn Johnson & Morrison has exited its investment in truckload carriage and logistics services provider Transport America, which was sold to TransForce for $310m.
Transport America offers short and long haul freight carriage, shipping services, as well as international and intermodal services.
The company’s network includes 12 terminals across the US and it currently operates around 1,500 tractors and about 4,400 trailers.
Goldner Hawn bought the company in February 2006.
Other recent deals in the transport and logistics sector include the acquisition of an 80 per cent stake in African parcel distribution company RTT Group by a consortium backed by private equity firm Ethos.
