French private equity firms Siparex, Calao Finance and Parisian trust company A Plus Finance have participated in a €2m financing round for Digiteka, a company that distributes B2B videos through the internet and mobile.
Digiteka enables publishers to buy, monetise and redistribute video content, and generates income from software licensing and advertising revenues.
Founded in Paris in 2006, the business began sourcing and distributing music videos, before expanding its offering into directories data, e-commerce and other forms of video such as trailers and news.
The company began turning a profit in 2010 and has since seen its turnover double during each consecutive year, and forecasts 150 per cent growth in 2013 on the back of international expansion – which is expected to account for 80 per cent of turnover by 2015.
The new financing will support the company’s national and international expansion, in addition to funding the acquisition of further content rights.
