Flatiron Health secures $130m in Google led round, acquires Altos Solutions


cancer band pink_sqGoogle’s venture capital arm has led a $130m Series B investment round for medical software startup Flatiron Health.

Other investors in the round included First Round Capital and Laboratory Corporation of America as well as angel investors.

The funds will help the company finance its acquisition of Altos Solution, whose oncology-specific electronic medical record is used to diagnose treat and manage cancer patients.

Flatiron said, “It was abundantly clear after spending time with them that the combination of Flatiron and Altos would be game-changing for cancer care.

“Bringing smart data capture and patient engagement together with advanced analytics is a powerful combination that can have huge implications for patient care and research.”

Earlier this year Google Ventures led a $25.5m financing round for data security business Ionic Security alongside peer Jafco Ventures.
