UK utility British Gas has led a £7m equity round by into telecoms and data centre efficiency company 4energy with investment also from existing venture capital backer the Environmental Technologies Fund.
Catapult Venture Managers also participated in the fundraise, which will allow 4energy to kick-start its global roll-out.
It is thought that British Gas will now allow its data centre and ICT customers to use 4energy’s services, which are aimed at lowering energy costs through minor adjustments to air-flows and temperature gradients.
Robert Genieser, 4energy Chairman and Partner at the Environmental Technologies Fund, said, “4energy has been a great success story, delivering both strong growth and large environmental benefits. With British Gas on
board, working with the strong management team, there is so much more we can do.”
