Edward Bramson’s Sherborne ups Electra Private Equity stake

17 Mar 2014

London taxisElectra Private Equity revealed that activist investor Edward Bramson has increased his stake in the British private equity firm.

Bramson’s investment firm Sherborne Investors now holds an 18.39 per cent interest in Electra, up from 13.7 per cent previously, according to a regulatory statement.

Earlier this month Sherborne raised its stake in Electra from 10.24 per cent.

Sherborne had previously bought up share in UK private equity firm 3i, divesting them in November last year.

back in 2011 Sherborne ousted ousted management at F&C Asset Management following a similar buy-in, but pursued a more passive ownership during its tenure as a backer of 3i.

Electra’s recent deals include the acquisition of a majority stake in Gresham-backed shoe manufacturer Hotter Shoes.
