Distributed database management technology company NuoDB has raised a $14.2m funding round from new and existing backers.
French 3D design software group Dassault Systèmes participated in the round alongside existing investors including Morgenthaler Ventures, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners, and Longworth Venture Partners.
The round brings the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company’s fundraising total to $26.2m.
NuoDB’s clients include AutoZone, Zombie Studios and DropShip Commerce.
Longworth partner Nilanjana Bhowmik said, “Dassault Systèmes’ investment in NuoDB will strengthen NuoDB’s ability to deliver unique distributed database software designed for the cloud.”
One of the company’s backers, Morgenthaler, closed its tenth fund above target and rebranded as Canvas Venture Fund last September.
The new fund closed on $175m, ahead of its $150m target. It will be managed via a new entity, Morgenthaler Technology Investment Company, by three Morgenthaler partners, Gary Little, Rebecca Lynn and Gary Morgenthaler.
