Consumer buyout firm Vendis Capital invests in Belgian jeweler Victoria

Mid-market consumer investor Vendis Capital has backed Belgian jewellery company the Victoria Group.

Victoria was founded in 1991 and focuses on the jewellery direct sales sector in Belgium and France.

“We have been impressed by Victoria’s quality of the products and its complete control of the direct sales model,” said Cedric Olbrechts from Vendis Capital. “Françoise Kaisin has created a real jewel here, and we’re convinced that Victoria has strong development potential!”

Vendis Capital’s investment will enable the Victoria Group to integrate its French business, which until now was partially owned by private individuals, the company said.

Vendis Capital was launched in 2009 and raised €111m for its inaugural fund in 2011.

The firm has made eight investments to date, including German equestrian retailer Hypo Wholesale, communication agency Mazarine and organic cat and dog food brand Yarrah.
