China’s ClearVue Partners leads $16m Series B for shopping website B5M


china dragon_sqChinese shopping website B5M has raised $16m in a Series B round led by Shanghai-based private investment firm ClearVue Partners.

The lead investor from the company’s Series A, Oak Investment Partners, also participated in the round, as did other existing backers and several new angel investors.

The Series B has brought B5M’s fundraising total to $23.1m.

The portal currently has 3m unique visitors and 50m page views per day through its website, plugin, PC and mobile applications.

Oak Investment Partners general partner Ifty Ahmed said, “The current growth of B5M reminds me of Kayak in its early days, and I believe that it has the potential to achieve a similar outcome in China and become the search portal of choice for Chinese consumers.

“I look forward to working with William Chen and the B5M management team to help the company realize its potential.”
