Capricorn Venture Partners backs €6m Right Brain investment

19 Jul 2013

tv-watch-remote-sport-televisionCapricorn Venture Partners has used its Capricorn ICT ARKIV fund to back a €6m financing round for Belgian cloud-based digital video recorder maker Right Brain Interactive.

The firm has invested alongside a strong syndicate of top Flemish investors according to Right Brain, which is the software company behind TV device bhaalu.

ICT Capricorn partner Katrin Geyskens said, ‘The innovative business model of Right Brain/bhaalu places the consumer at the centre, but at the same time also offers opportunities to the established players in the media landscape combined with a solid IP portfolio – all factors that have

been decisive for our investment.

“We also appreciate the user‐friendly interface that grants the bhaalu customer an intuitive way to access to his large amount of video data.”

Capricorn launched its fund in December with a focus on digital healthcare and big data, making this investment a slightly off-strategy move although still data-related.
