Private equity-backed Ambassador Theatre Group is up for sale at a valuation of £350m.
Majority owner Exponent Private Equity has hired UBS to explore a potential exit, with suitors said to include fellow buyout firms BC Partners, Blackstone , Carlyle, Charterhouse, Lion Capital and Permira, Sky News has reported.
Earlier this year the firm was said to be eyeing up a sale, looking to complete a deal in the first quarter of 2014.
The company is the largest owner and operator of theatres in the UK and was formed when Exponent acquired and merged Ambassador Theatre Group and the theatre portfolio of US corporate Live Nation in November 2009. A
It owns and operates 12 venues in the West End and 28 venues across the rest of the UK.
