Bowmark exits JacTravel Group to Vitruvian Partners


travelBowmark Capital has exited London-based B2B hotel accommodation wholesaler JacTravel Group to fellow private equity firm Vitruvian Partners for £80m.

JacTravel’s partners include 12,500 independent and chain hotels in 800 cities around the globe. The company processes nearly 1m bookings per year.

Since beings acquired by Bowmark in 2007 JacTravel has expanded its global coverage by establishing customer and supplier partnerships in Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.

During this time, the company saw its sales and profits grow at annual rates of 16 per cent and 22 per cent, respectively.

Bowmark partner David Torbet said, “Over the past seven years, JacTravel has very successfully capitalised on consumers’ increasing preference for purchasing travel services online.

“We have worked closely with the management team to develop a strong market position from which to continue the company’s impressive growth.”

Last month Bowmark promoted four team members not long after closing its Capital Partners V fund on its £375m hard cap in December.
