Blackstone, Carlyle circle Singapore’s Goodpack

singapore_skyscraper_170Private equity majors Blackstone and Carlyle are reportedly planning to make an offer for Singapore-based container maker Goodpack, which recently ended talks with Australian pallet maker Brambles.

The two firms have held meetings with Goodpack this week and there is no guarantee that an agreement will be reached as talks are at an early stage, said Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter.

Goodpack, which makes environmentally friendly containers, is currently valued at nearly $1bn.

Last November private equity firm Headland Capital Partners made an offer for Kreuz, a Singapore-based provider of subsea construction and installation services to oil and gas companies.
