BGF backs Plastique with £5m investment

plasticUK growth investor Business Growth Fund (BGF) has backed Plastique with a £5m investment to help the Kent-based packaging manufacturer expand its facilities.

BGF will hold a minority stake in the company, which plans to double the size of its facility in Poznan, Poland from 3,000 sq m to 7,300 sq m.

The investment will also help Plastique buy additional manufacturing equipment.

The company’s sales director Perry Rigler said, “Alongside our core market in thermoformed plastic packaging, we see huge potential for diversification and expansion of our business in the emerging thermoformed pulp market.

“Many of our customers are long-standing, having been with us for over ten years and recognise the bespoke products that we provide are of the highest quality.

“BGF’s investment will allow us to further expand our business with these clients, offering the same quality but on a wider range of products.”

Earlier this month BGF invested £10m in burgeoning American-style gym chain Gymbox.

The fund’s other recent deals include a £4m minority investment in cloud infrastructure company Skyscape Cloud Services.
