Behrman takes fire protection company BECO back four years after exit

fireplace-1411085-mPrivate equity firm Behrman Capital has re-bought logistics-related BECO Holding Company four years after exiting its investment in the business.

Behrman has bought BECO from fellow buyout house Freeman Spogli & Co after previously owning a majority stake in the company between 1998 and 2010.

BECO is a wholesale distributor of first-response fire protection equipment and related parts.

The holding company owns Brooks Equipment Company, Logistics Supply Company and tanning business Heiser BHC.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Behrman managing partner Grant Behrman said, “It is a pleasure to be working with … the BHC team once again. We know the company very well, having helped to build it through organic growth and several successful acquisitions during our prior investment period.

“BHC is a great business that provides critical products for essential services.”

Earlier this summer AltAssets reported that Behrman completed a $410m refinancing for industrial and military microelectronics business ILC Industries.
