Bain Capital Ventures leads $15m round for digital marketing firm

bain logoBain Capital Ventures has led a Series A funding round for digital marketing specialist Persado, helping it raise $15m.

The funds will enable Persado to double its research and development spending and significantly increase its sales and marketing activities, the company said.

It also plans to establish its headquarters in New York City.

Persado’s marketing technology claims to automatically generate and select the marketing messages which work best. The company says it learns from actual consumer responses to messages in order to constantly improve results.

The group’s customers include voice calling service Skype, social network Badoo and mobile operator TIM Brazil.

Deepak Sindwani, a partner at Bain Capital Ventures, said, “The creation of the most effective marketing messages is a universal problem and a highly manual process for digital marketers today.

“Persado solves this problem through its unique data science, software, and information service, systematically generating the best messages across all online marketing channels, for any product and any customer, at any time.

“We are excited to partner with Persado to pursue this enormous market opportunity and build the next great company in online marketing.”

Bain Capital Ventures is the venture arm within private equity giant Bain Capital, which has approximately $66bn of assets under management around the globe.
