Artiman Ventures helps Nutrinsic Corp raise $12.7m

15 Aug 2014

nutricorpArtiman Ventures has led a $12.7m round for animal nutrition products producer Nutrinsic Corporation to help fund the construction of its first US production facility.

Existing backers IDG Capital, High Country Venture and Maxhill Industries also participated in the round.

The company’s main product is ProFloc, a protein ingredient produced using its patented technology that upcycles nutrients that are currently lost in food and beverage plant wastewater treatment.

Nutrinsic is currently building its first US production facility in Trenton, Ohio, which is expected to become operational by the end of the year.

Artiman managing director Tim Wilson said, “Nutrinsic lowers the treatment cost and improves the effluent quality for food and beverage waste streams while producing a superior, significant and sustainable source of protein for animal feed.”

In April this year AltAssets reported that Artiman had launched a new fund, Artiman Ventures 2014.
