New York-based buyout house Arsenal Capital Partners has picked up ultraviolet coating technology company IGM Resins.

IGM said it hoped to expand its product portfolio, services, technical support and product development as part of the high-growth UV radiation cure market.

Arsenal partner John Televantos said, “We are delighted with the opportunity to invest in a global company with the ability to provide complete solutions to the highly attractive UV cure end markets.

“The acquisition of IGM Resins further builds on Arsenal’s broad portfolio and established expertise in the Specialty Chemicals and Materials sectors.” said John Televantos, a partner at Arsenal who co-heads the firm’s specialty industrials practice.

Earlier this year Arsenal acquired pigment and chemical company Plasticolors and combined it with existing portfolio company Chromaflo Technologies, which it formed following the acquisition of Evonik Industries’ Colortrend colorants business.

The firm announced plans to acquire Evonik Industries’ Colortrend division earlier in the year.
