Arle Capital, AlpInvest, Goldman PE eye £3bn Expro sale or IPO

offshore oil gas_sqArle Capital Partners is reportedly planning to exit UK oil services company Expro as soon as this year through either a float or sale.

The firm and Expro owners Alpinvest and Goldman Sachs’ private equity arm have hired Goldman Sachs and Deutsche Bank to evaluate exit options according to Sky News, which cited insiders with knowledge of the process.

It said Expro could be worth at least £3bn, well above the £1.6bn Goldman, AlpInvest and Candover paid for the company in 2008.

Arle was created by former Candover directors in 2011 to take over €2bn of their former employer’s funds, which hit trouble in the wake of the global financial crisis and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.
