European private investment firm AnaCap Financial Partners has acquired a portfolio of unsecured personal loans from Secure Trust Bank.
The firm made the investment through AnaCap Credit Opportunities III, which held a final close on $674.5m in 2016.
The portfolio is made up of more than 10,000 individual loans spread across the UK with an average seasoning of almost two years.
AnaCap managing director Konstantin Karchinov said, “We are delighted to have completed this deal – one that represents AnaCap’s 16th UK investment and our 8th performing asset acquisition in the UK alone.
“Anacap’s extensive track record in the UK and performing credit investments dates back to 2010 and this deal reinforces the firm’s ability to access regulated performing assets and adjacent asset types across Europe.”
The deal marks AnaCap Credit Opportunities III’s second investment in the UK, and follows on from a number of similar investments made by its predecessor vehicles.
The firm also runs a private equity strategy, and just last month it was reported that it had scored a 2.6x return on the sale of First Names Group after a five-year holding.
A month before, its portfolio business Aldermore also agreed to be taken over by South African bank First Rand.
