Anacap acquires €700m loan portfolio from UniCredit

4 Feb 2014

euros_lrgPrivate equity firm Anacap Financial Partners has bought a €700m portfolio of non-performing loans from banking group UniCredit in its latest deal in Italy.

UniCredit said that the sale of the portfolio, which includes around 1,000 credit positions, was agreed in mid-December. This was Anacap’s fifth deal in Italy in the past 12 months.

The deal came only a few weeks after Anacap bought a €551m portfolio of performing salary secured loans from Gruppo Monte dei Paschi di Siena in Italy.

Last year UniCredit sold its 40 per cent stake in Italian company Holding di Investimenti in Sanità e Infrastrutture to private equity firm Ardian, which was known as AXA at the time.
