ACON Investments has agreed a deal for Topspin Partners portfolio business JD Beauty.
Topspin bought the hair brush, combs and hair accessories company in 2015 through its second flagship fund.
ACON said it would merge JD with its existing portfolio business Goody Products, which it bought last August.
The deal is expected to close later this month.
Ken Brotman, founding and managing partner at ACON, said, “The combination of JD Beauty and Goody creates a formidable supplier within the industry. We look forward to working with Jeffrey and the entire JD Beauty and Goody teams to continue a growth trajectory for the integrated company.”
Topspin managing partner Leigh Randall added, “JD Beauty is an exceptional and innovative platform that has redefined the haircare industry.
“Over the past three years, Jeffrey and the team have grown the company from its single product beginnings in detangling brushes into a multi-category, multichannel platform.”
ACON specialises in investments across Latin America, as well as the US and Europe. The firm held the final close its fourth fund on its $1.07bn hard cap in 2017.
