Accel Partners has appointed Philippe Botteri to join the firm’s investment team in London.
Botteri will be responsible for sourcing and leading European investment opportunities in cloud computing, software-as-a-service (SaaS) and internet.
“We are thrilled and fortunate to have Philippe join our London-based team,” said Kevin Comolli, partner at Accel.
“Philippe is immensely talented and a real subject expert with valuable Silicon Valley experience that he can leverage at Accel to address European opportunities,” he added.
Botteri has 13 years’ experience in the technology sector and has written several white papers and articles about the financial metrics and key performance indicators for recurring revenue businesses.
Prior to joining Accel, Botteri helped build Bessemer Venture Partners’ global cloud computing practice in their Silicon Valley office.
He also played a key part in the firm’s 2007 investment in Cornerstone OnDemand, a SaaS human capital management provider which went public in March 2011.
Before this, he worked for McKinsey & Co’s high technology practice in the US and Europe, where he contributed to the firm’s on-demand software and internet start-up activities.
“I am very excited to be joining Accel Partners, a very talented team with an incredibly impressive portfolio,” said Botteri.
“Throughout my career, I have had the chance to work with a number of great investors and entrepreneurs and I look forward to leveraging Accel’s global platform to pursue future investment opportunities in the cloud computing and Internet space.”
Earlier this month, Accel backed IDG Capital Partners’ Series A fundraising round for App Annie, which provides app store analytics and marketing intelligence.
