UK private equity firm LDC has bolstered its team by adding experienced corporate financiers Richard Ibbett and Chris Wright, pictured, to its Manchester team as investment directors.
Ibbett has spent nearly ten years in corporate finance advisory and most recently worked as a director at Deloitte. In that capacity, he advised LDC on its recent investment in Angus Fire.
Wright is joining the firm from Rothschild, where he served as a director in its investment banking division. Over the past year, he advised on the sale of Hansen Protection by Montagu, the acquisition of GHD by Lion Capital and the sale of ATPI by Equistone.
Co-head of LDC in the North West Jonathan Bell said, “We have had a busy year in the Manchester office, deploying over £60m of equity to back some of the region’s most promising management teams and businesses.
“Richard and Chris are stand-out corporate finance professionals who join the team with a wealth of experience in supporting some of the most high profile private equity transactions in the North.
“Their expertise will be integral as we look to build on our momentum in 2014 and expand our thriving portfolio.”
LDC has just exited its stake in Kee Safety to Dunedin through a £90m buyout for what it said was an excellent return.
