New specialist private equity firm spun out by WL Ross, Invesco Private Capital senior execs launched

A pair of former WL Ross and Invesco Private Capital senior execs have spun out a new private equity firm targeting opportunistic buyouts and special situations deals in the global industrials, materials and chemicals sectors.

Stephen Toy, previously a founding member and co-head of WL Ross & Co and global PE head at Invesco PC, has launched BroadPeak Global alongside former WL Ross and Invesco PC head of industrials Nadim Qureshi.

They are joined by Geoffrey Lim and Jackie Zheng, both former senior investment professionals at Invesco Private Capital, and Ademola Adewale-Sadik.

BroadPeak says its team have been working closely together since 2014, with over $2bn of equity deployed across North America, Asia and Europe.

The firm says it is focused on highly strategic and complex transactions, including special situations and carve-outs on a global or multi-regional scale.

Target sectors include materials, specialty and diversified chemicals, steel and aluminum, as well as general industrial and manufacturing.

Broadpeak Global co-founder Toy said, “Nadim and I are very excited about BroadPeak Global, whose strategy and focus are critical elements to succeed in today’s private equity marketplace.

“We believe the team is well-positioned and prepared to resume its excellent work and investment performance in the industrials, materials and chemicals sectors as an independent firm.”
