Evercore private capital advisory chief Nigel Dawn named co-president in leadership overhaul

0

Evercore has appointed its private capital advisory chief Nigel Dawn as co-president alongside investment banking executive Naveen Nataraj, elevating the head of its secondaries and private capital advisory business into the firm’s senior executive leadership.

The appointments take effect on January 1, 2027, with Dawn and Nataraj reporting to chairman and chief executive John Weinberg.

Dawn will also become chairman of Evercore’s private capital advisory business, retaining an active role in its development and relationships with clients.

He has been responsible for building the advisory platform into a global business with operations across the US, Europe and Singapore.

The division advises private markets managers and investors on transactions including GP-led secondaries, liquidity solutions and capital raising.

His promotion comes as private capital advisory activities have become increasingly important to investment banks, driven by the expansion of continuation funds and demand for alternative liquidity solutions.

Nataraj, who has advised clients across a range of industries, will remain involved in Evercore’s investment banking activities.

The appointments form part of a wider restructuring of the firm’s leadership. Daniel Mendelow will become sole head of US investment banking, while Jason Sobol will become chairman of US investment banking.

Weinberg will remain chairman and CEO for at least another three years, the firm added.

Evercore has continued expanding its private capital advisory business this year, including the appointment of Clay McCoy as a senior managing director in New York in May.

The firm also appointed Dennis Cornell as a senior managing director in its private capital markets business in June.
