Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund Temasek has launched its first European office.
Temasek has opened an office in London to add to its existing offices in Singapore, Brazil, China, India, Mexico and Vietnam.
The new office will support Temasek’s investment interests in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the fund said in a statement.
Temasek chairman Lim Boon Heng said, “We invest into the longer term trends, and continue to see many opportunities emerge as the global economy rebalances.
“Our new office in London serves as a home base to advise Temasek on investment and partnership opportunities with growth companies here in Europe and further afield.”
Temasek currently has S$215bn of assets under management, of which 71 per cent is in Asia and 25 per cent is in North America, Europe, Australia & New Zealand.
Earlier this month Temasek bought a 24.95 per cent stake in health and beauty retailer AS Watson & Co from billionaire Li Ka-shing’s firm Hutchison Whampoa.
