Skype founder Niklas Zennström’s venture capital firm Atomico Partners has accused its former employee and a consultant for using its name to invest in a company from their own fund.
Atomico has filed a lawsuit against its former employee Pogos Saiadian and consultant Wouter Gort, accusing them of using Atomico credentials when reaching out to startups, said Reuters.
However, Saiadian and Gort invested from their own venture capital firm Greyhound Capital Management, which was launched when the pair was still at Atomico.
Atomico also said that Saiadian and Gort used its proprietary information to identify potential investees and then used their Atomico credentials to build relationship with those companies.
Last November Atomico closed its latest fund on $476m, which is three times the size of its previously vehicle. The fund was oversubscribed and received commitments from across Asia, the US and Europe.
