Index Ventures latest early-stage firm to back review site Trustpilot

Index Ventures has joined existing investors Northzone and SEED Capital to make a €10m investment in Danish shopping reviews software provider Trustpilot.

The company said it would use the capital injection to improve its technology and usability, including a focus on improving self-service for clients.

Trustpilot’s latest funding round follows a €3.3m investment from Nordic Venture funds Northzone and SEED in November last year.

The company provides aggregated reviews for consumer products based on an easy-to-view five star rating system.

Index’s investment comes 12 months after Brazilian community review site Kekanto, received Series A funding led by Accel Partners with Kaszek Ventures, a growth capital firm led by MercadoLibre’s co-founder Hernan Kazah.

The round marked Accel’s fifth investment in Brazil over the past twelve months.

Florian Otto, CEO of Groupon Brazil, and Vinicius Marchini, partner of the Brazilian investment bank and private equity fund BR Partners, were angel investors in the business.
